Run on the runway!

Following the opening of the new passenger terminal in March 2023, the Sorayoka Area, open to the local community, will open on October 26, 2024.
This year, we will be holding a special event where planes will run down the runway early in the morning, with the aim of raising awareness of the ever-evolving Aso Kumamoto Airport to people inside and outside the prefecture, contributing to the development of the region through the use of the airport, and making the airport a place that is familiar to the local community.

You can run on a special area, the runway,
where even losing a single screw is not permitted!!

This is the only marathon in Japan where you can run on the runway of the only 3000m airport in operation! This was made possible through special permission and management! Why not experience the charm of the runway, which you can only understand by running on it? If it's a clear day, you can run towards the sunrise over Aso.
